“What Happened”

Statement:

I have always been interested in art, even from an early age. I took art classes in high school and graduated to a year at the American Academy of Art in Chicago and Graduated from the Washington University School of Fine Arts in St. Louis, Mo. majoring in illustration.

Started my career at Sears, Roebuck and Co. as an art buyer for the advertising department. Leaving Sears to move on to a design firm that specialized in designing retail store interiors, as a graphic designer. A number of years later I became Design Director for the same firm.
I then went on to a firm that manufactured retail store fixtures as their Design Director. I was involved with the design of store configuration, store decor and fixture design.

Upon retiring my wife and I came to California to be close to our grandchildren.
I then became serious about his work as a fine artist. I have worked in most media including oils, watercolors, and graphite.

I am always trying to portray snippets of every day life. Being fortunate enough to travel to out of the country, cityscapes and people situations have become some of my favorite subjects. One will see examples of travel inspired artwork as well as images from closer

to home. Each piece is infused with an intimate sense of place by my use of highlight and shadow.
