ARTHOUSE is proud to present the art exhibition “Ignited Mind” at ARTHOUSE Gallery on historic R. Street in Sacramento, November 14 – December 8, 2020.
Please join us as we feature the surreal oil paintings of Diana Ormanzhi at ARTHOUSE on R Gallery, 1021 R. Street in Sacramento. The opening reception including an opportunity to meet the artist is Saturday, November 14th from 2:00 – 6:00.
“Ignited Mind” features a collection of artwork created by Diana Ormanzhi after a devasting fire claimed her home in September 2019. As an emerging artist, losing her home, studio, and numerous artworks felt like a breaking point, but Ormanzhi decided to transform her heartache into motivation and view this as a fresh start. Since then, she has focused on creating a new series of surreal oil paintings for her first solo show “Ignited Mind.”
Diana Ormanzhi is an oil painter and illustrator from Sacramento, CA. She received her Associate’s degree in Art and Gallery Management from American River College. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Ormanzhi put her education on hold and is currently establishing herself as an artist. Her studio can be found in ARTHOUSE Studio 5, adjacent to the ARTHOUSE Gallery where “Ignited Mind” will be on display.
Diana’s recent work focuses on the coexistence of humans and other living beings on our planet. In particular, she brings attention to how human action impacts our environment and the creatures living in it. This is best illustrated through the surreal imagery in her Protectress Series of three paintings which depict guardian, Mother Earth-like figures that protect animals of the sea, air, and land. Diana’s artwork often uses feminine beauty in contrast to harsh surroundings to amplify her message.
In addition to the Gallery Show, many ARTHOUSE resident artists will open their studios to the public for Second Saturday, November 14th from 10:00 – 4:00.
