February 2021 – Human Nature

ARTHOUSE is proud to present the art exhibition “Human Nature” at ARTHOUSE Gallery on historic R Street in Sacramento, Feb 12 – March 7, 2021.  

Please join us as we feature the collages of Dacy Kolsky and Lisa Culjis at ARTHOUSE on R Gallery, 1021 R. Street in Sacramento. The opening reception is Saturday, February 13th from 10:00am – 4:00pm.  On that day, the artists will be there from noon until 4pm. In addition to the Gallery Show, ARTHOUSE resident artists will open their studios to the public during the opening reception on February 13th. 

THE ARTISTS:

Dacy Kolsky is a Northern California native and lifelong artist with a degree in Interior Design. She is also a published Fashion Stylist. Happiness for her includes channeling creativity into all facets of her life. Her focus for the last four years has been mixed media collage. Through the use of highly personal imagery she seeks to express a reality that is beyond normal perceptions:

  • To put a face to emotional energies associated with the spiritual dimension.
  • To suggest we free ourselves of the imposed internal and societal viewpoints that are pressed upon us. 
  • To find our own unique path and perspective through exploration of our feelings.

Sacramento artist Lisa Culjis creates unique hand-cut collages and assemblages using old photographs, vintage ephemera, discarded books and miscellaneous small treasures collected from estate sales, thrift stores and items that friends pass along. 

These collected bits and pieces wait in her brimming backyard studio until the moment arrives to give them a new life; to cut, arrange, paint and glue them together.

Lisa earned a Bachelors degree in Fine Art at the University of Nevada, Reno. Over the past three decades, her artwork has shown in numerous venues across the Sacramento region.
